Day 6: Hiking again

I think that this is going to become a thing.  I think that I am going to be doing a lot of hiking.

This morning was pretty good.  We got some bikes earlier this week and I was able to take one for a spin.  It was old but it still rode nicely.  The brakes were really touchy but I wasn’t going too fast to really throw me off.
Yesterday, Berit gave me a suggestion to go see this cabin up on the hill past the church.  I liked the suggestion.  Some other student teachers agreed with the suggestions so we went, plus the day was beautiful.

The first stop on the hike was the Kvinnherad Kyrkye (Kvinnherad Church).  It was beautiful church will a stunning backdrop of a snowcapped mountain.  Built in 1250 it is a very old church that, obviously, is still standing today.
From there we continued on the path and then went up past these houses and through some trees.  It was beautiful.  Through the trees I was so excited that I was running up the trail.  I was running up the trail even though it was up hill.  Boy was I winded, and the hike was only beginning.  Also on the way up to the cabin I decided that I was going to play the game where you can only step on rocks.  So I was jumping around going up the trail only stepping on rocks.  I found it fun and challenging to keep moving forward.

Unfortunately when we got up to the cabin it was under construction and so we couldn’t go inside it.  We really didn’t need to though because it was plenty warm and the wind wasn’t blowing.  Ashley and Julia were talking about how it was going to be windy and cold but it wasn’t today.  I was glad.  We ended up staying there for a little while to eat lunch.  I finished my lunch and then was ready to move on but other people weren’t ready yet.  But I saw that there was another place not far off so I walked over there.  The problem was getting there and then getting back.  There was this wet part that I had to cross but my shoes got all dirty.

After the cabin at (Skalafjell) then we went up the hill/ mountain higher.  It was a ways.  Honestly, it was farther than I thought it was.  I am completely glad that we went and took the path.  I was able to see some beautiful landscapes and take a bunch of pictures.
There was a cool book at the top (Skalafjell).

We chilled at top for a while and then started back down the mountain.  It was really steep going down.  It was also pretty cool to see the wooden planks and the wooden bridges over the wire fences.

I really liked the dirt road that we ended up walking down.  I think it looked really cool.

We also stopped by the grocery store and I got strawberries because I really like to have those for breakfast.  Then I also got a chocolate bar.  I tried the first row and it tasted really good.
