Prague was beautiful in the morning. The one nice thing about that first room was
that it had a beautiful view of Prague in the morning. Love it!
We got breakfast (cocoa puffs and orange
juice) from the hostel for breakfast along with a sandwich for lunch. I don’t think that it would be hard for the
hostel to provide that but it does make things really easy for the
travelers. That way they don’t have to
spend money for breakfast.
We decided to set out earlyish even though
it was raining. We walked to Charles’
Bridge which crosses the Vltava River in the center of Prague. Ashley was saying that we picked a good time
to go because there weren’t a million billion tourists on the bridge and so we
were able to take a lot of pictures without a lot of people in the way.

At first we didn’t go inside and just walked around the grounds. But then we went to the ticket office and realized that the entrance ticket to most of the stuff was 175 Czech (which is like $7) so we were pretty excited about that. Inside we were not disappointed. It was wonderful inside the cathedral. There were a bunch of stained glass windows. I would say that there were upwards of 20 stained glass windows that are huge. We didn’t pay for a tour but we would occasionally hang by a tour guide and hear a couple things about the stained glass window that the tour guide was talking about. But then we would move on faster than the tour guide so those moments were short lived.
We also went inside the castle itself. It was less impressive. It was much smaller and simpler. The biggest room was a ball and that was very
simple. We also made our way around the
castle. I didn’t learn very much from
wandering the castle because e either there wasn’t information or there was too
much information and I was discouraged from reading about the story.
It was pretty cold and very
windy so we decided that we were going to go back to the hostel and warm up and
see what we could do the rest of the day.
We worked out a lot of plans as far as getting to Ostrava and what we
were going to do there.
We went to Lokal for dinner and that was an experience. The food was good. We ended up eating in the smoking section because there was an open table there much sooner than in the non-smoking area of the restaurant. Before we even ate we had to wait just in part of the restaurant. While we were waiting I saw a sign for a toilet and so I decided that I needed to go to the bathroom. I walk in and I was surprised at what I saw. Instead of individual urinals there was just this wall that you would pee against and then water would fall down. It was weird. Then on the wall behind the small mirror was some hard pornography. I thought it would probably be soft porn where the women are naked but you can’t really see anything. Nope. It was straight up hard porn. Let’s just say that I paid attention to the amount of soap I had on my hands and that I washed every part of my hands. Then I left.
We went back to the Easter Markets in Old
Town Square. The street musician was
there again. He was playing the same
song again. On the Square we stopped to
get trdelniks. Trdelniks are a cinnamony
and sugary strip of dough that is rolled and then cooked. It tastes really good. I opted not to get the Nutella on the
inside. The thing was already really sweet
so I didn’t think it needed the extra chocolate.
We then went back to the hostel and met our roommates. It was rather convenient that everybody in the room (us three and the two Asian girls) decided that it was time to turn off the light at the same time. I tried to write some on my Surface before actually going to bed. That didn’t work very well. I was maybe up for another 15 minutes but that was about it. I was out pretty fast.
